Course Overview:

Whether a reader or a querent, the strikingly symbolic imagery of the Tarot speaks directly to the heart of those who look upon it.  Its stories of fortune and folly, trifle and triumph, conquest and conundrum, beautifully illustrate the quintessential experiences of the human condition within the subtle context of the cycles and natural orders of the universe.

Through its contents, students gain exposure to such fundamental traditions as occult elemental theory, numerology, color as a symbol, alchemy,  and several essential perspectives of broader occultism while developing their intuitive capacities without the cumbersome demand for technical expertise found in other, denser traditions.

This class has been designed so that, upon completion of the course, someone with minimal prior knowledge of the tradition will be able complete a successful and insightful reading for themself or another without supervision and with limited reference to source materials or accompanying texts.

Course Outline:

This course typically ranges from 6 – 10 hours depending on student pacing and class size, and is completed over the course of 3 –  5 weeks unless the class opts for more frequent meetings.  We begin with learning the theory, which is roughly 80 – 90% of the structure.  The final 10 – 20% is used on practice, workshopping, and further development.  The topics covered are as follows:

• Western Elemental Theory Within the Tarot
• Theosophic Numerology Within the Tarot
• The Minor Arcana
• The Court Cards
• The Major Arcana
• Beginner Spreads
• Group Workshop & Examinations
• Final Questions
